Battery usage instructions for proper care and increased battery life:

  • The charger light will turn red when the battery is low, and green when full
  • The usual time to charge a low battery is 8-12 Hours (charge times may vary)
  • Don't leave it fully charged. Similarly, lithium-ion batteries don't need to be charged all the way to 100%. In fact, they'd prefer not to be—so the 40%-80% charged is a good guideline. When possible, keep it in that range to prolong its life as long as you can. And, if you do charge it to 100% to prepare for a ride, don't leave it plugged in for too long. This is something most of us do, but it's another thing that will degrade your battery's health. If you need to charge it overnight.
  • Never completely drain the battery to 0%
  • Unplug the battery connection from the head light when not in use. This will prevent draining of the battery to 0%.
  • Never charge the battery pack when the temperature is below 32F = 0C, as this may cause shorts to develop in the pack.
